GMC Birchaven by Coachmen

1976 GMC 23 ft Birchaven
455 engine
Side bath.

Owned since 2004, present mileage 80,552.

Engine and transmission rebuilt in the last 400 miles.

New Firestone load range E tires have less than 1000 miles and are one year old.

Good working Onan showing 703.4 hours.

Interior remodeled, new upholstery and carpet.
Rear drapes are original.

Light Oak cabinetry recently refinished. New additional cabinets match the original.

A clothes closet was added and a small kitchen sink is handy and functional.

There is no stove top. A hot plate is in the cabinet, if needed.

A convection / microwave oven is installed with a refrigerator underneath.

This is an all electric unit 110 and 12 volt.

The roof air has a heat strip and a central thermostatically controlled unit, vent, outlet, is mounted in the step at the bathroom door.

The dining table is a two-way, it can serve as a dining table or it can be lowered to become a nifty coffee table. You'll find a convertible sofa/bed to the right of the entrance with a lot of storage underneath, and easy front access.

The side (wet) bath is fully operational. Water heater works well.

The double bed in the rear has an insert that can be removed from the mattress to make it a U shaped sofa under the rear window.

Forward, in the cockpit, there is a "Buddy seat" for the passenger side.

Fully working dash Instrumentation with upgraded tach, oil pressure and coolant gauges.

Under the hood, four batteries. Two for engine and two (Deep Cycle) for house.

The dash air works good as AC or heat. The compressor was replaced and there is a new "Fantastic" fan.

Front Wheel bearings were redone within the last 3000 miles.

In the ten years we've owned it, it has never been outside in the weather except for three or four Rallys a year for three or four days each. We have inside storage. However we've been in some serious rain a few times. And found no leaks.

It had 69,587 miles on it when we bought it ten years ago so you can see we have barely made 1000 miles a year. My wife is a decorator and contractor so she had her fun and there was enough tinkering to keep me occupied, in the time we had available.

We are not smokers and have never had pets.

There is a flat screen TV mounted on the wall and a DVD player in the adjacent cabinet. The RV is wired for cable and telephone and the typical "batwing antenna" is on the roof and I'm not sure we've ever used the antenna, I do see the indicator light on the pre-amp, though. The dash radio works fine and it has a cassette player and we use an adaptor/player to play CD's. Sounds good, but, it ain't a "Bose".

I have wired the unit for a "color back-up camera and monitor", but have not mounted the monitor or the camera yet. (it's still in the box).

This was our second motorhome over a 21 or 22 year period and it's been a lot of fun and we've met some beautiful people and made a lot of friends. (This means I've spent way too much money but I'm trying to justify it.) I didn't retire until I was 80 and that was nearly six years ago but I've really fallen in love with our new lifestyle.

We are able to travel a lot but find RV'ing now requires a little more effort than we can really continue with. Trains, planes and automobiles is what we seem to be doing more of now.

Asking $14,900 for the GMC and would negotiate a nice price on the Tracker for a package deal.

The 2000 Chevy Tracker just went over 100,000 miles. 2 door, automatic, 4wd, PS/PB/CD/AC. Removable 2 piece hardtop with sun-roof. No dents or snags. Always garaged.

Package deal also includes the Roadmaster tow bar, brackets, safety cables and wiring. All for $20,000.
