This 1978 GMC Royale by Coachmen

is Like NEW!

After 43 years of motorhoming (including three GMCs), we're hanging it up. We're selling our beautiful 26' Royale. The coach was built on July 11, 1978 as a transmode and converted by Jimmy Motor Homes (a division of Coachman) into its current configuration. It was delivered to its original owner in Bakersfield, California on April 26, 1979. This low mileage honey was one of the last GMCs produced (TZE368V101585). All the original paperwork is included.

We have many records from the beginning and have the original owner's manual and operating manual, as well as many maintenance manuals and service manuals, including several books of information on this specific coach that I put together myself.
This coach spent most of its life in California. It was originally delivered to Bakersfield and, when we bought it in 2013, I drove it to Texas from San Louis Obispo.

We've greatly enjoyed the Royale. It's our favorite of the three GMCs. The cab A/C and heater are by far the best of the three. They got it right in 1978. It drives and handles very well. It's in great shape and we would not hesitate to undertake a major trip in it.

The coach has:
62,000 original miles on the 403 engine
6K Onan generator (369 hours showing on the gauge)
Alcoa aluminum wheels
Front and rear roof A/Cs
Roof mounted storage bin
Satellite connection into the AM/FM/Cassette radio
Trailer hitch and wiring harness (original equipment)
Original owner's manual and operating manual
Rear bath configuration (diagram of layout attached)

New since 2013:
New air bags from Cinnabar Engineering (January 2014)
New Dometic front roof A/C (August 2015)
New front battery (Interstate)
New rear batteries (2 Die-Hards)
New battery combiner (great invention to save front battery)
New aluminum battery trays front and rear
New front windshields and weather-stripping from Cinnabar
New windshields installed by the Foretravel of Texas service dept.
New Michelins (6) from Discount Tire (April 2015)
New smoke detector
New Propane/CO detector
New LED interior light bulbs throughout
New LED tail/stop/backup light bulbs
New power steering pump
New alternator

We've attached many pictures. If we missed anything you're interested in, we'll take more and send them to you. We'd be happy to answer any questions you might have and we welcome a third party inspection. It's what we did when we bought it.

Selling price: $20,000
